Job Description

Project Development Manager

Recruitment Enhancement Services is currently recruiting for Project Development Manager for the Edison, New Jersey area to work for a leading company that provides professional and innovative energy consulting and delivery services by integrating forward-thinking demand-side energy management and energy procurement strategies with field-testing and hands-on energy engineering. This position will offer the ability to work with our growing client base in the Northeast, Midwest and California.


Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced project development manager to manage the development and engineering aspects of projects. The Project Development Manager will develop project cost estimates and schedules, select equipment and identify/provide costs estimates for technical issues such as electric interconnection, environmental permitting and regulatory costs.

The successful candidate will be tasked with the following:

  • Conducting design reviews and value engineering of solutions
  • Developing detailed project cost estimates and construction timelines
  • Developing bid packages and leveling responses to support customer pricing and development of construction contracts
  • Developing final subcontractor work/bid packages and pricing
  • Negotiating engineering and construction contracts
  • Submitting utility rebate applications for client projects
  • Cultivate new client relationships and accounts

Job Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • BS in engineering, PE a plus
  • 10 years experience in energy equipment procurement, design and/or construction
  • Experience in estimating and negotiating sub-contractor contracts
  • Design and/or construction knowledge in one or more of the following areas: boiler plants, chilled water plants, HVAC and mechanical systems (design/operations/service), lighting, small scale cogeneration projects, renewable energy technologies such as solar and wind power
  • Working knowledge of distributed generation, cogeneration and/or utility plant project/operations experience
  • Energy project experience: screening, development, bid solicitation, contract negotiations and project management
  • Experience with project scheduling tools such as Primavera, MS Office
  • A willingness to learn and work in a team environment with extensive contact with clients
  • Willingness for overnight travel (up to 25%).
